Poudre Valley

Established in 1939, Poudre Valley REA is one of Colorado’s largest electric co-ops. Covering the counties of Larimer, Weld and Boulder, Poudre Valley serves approximately 35,000 consumer/members.

Challenge:

Mailing ballots to each of our approximately 35,000 members was a much bigger job than we anticipated. Opening and counting the ballots at our annual meeting was extremely time-intensive for our staff, taking them away from their primary responsibilities. In addition, with everything that’s been in the news regarding election fraud, we knew it was time to employ a third party to handle the member balloting and counting.

SBS Solution:

After receiving bids from different election management companies, we hired SBS to run our next election. This decision was largely based on the glowing recommendations we received from other cooperatives who had worked with them. SBS made the election process painless. They designed and sent out the ballots, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. They had representatives on site during our annual meeting to make sure the members were filling out their ballots correctly and handing them in.

Impact:

The counting process was a breeze. The ballots were tallied before our guest speaker finished his presentation! SBS stood with us every step of the way; we were very pleased with our SBS experience.
