Turnout Goal

Last Updated on February 18, 2026 by Hannah Seeley

A turnout goal is a predetermined benchmark for the percentage of eligible voters an organization wants to engage. This benchmark is often based on historical participation rates, legal requirements for quorum, or internal goals set by the board or election committee. Publicizing a turnout goal (“Let’s get 60% turnout this year!”) can also motivate members by framing voting as a collective achievement.
