Our Commitment to Web Accessibility

Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from Survey & Ballot Systems, Inc.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Survey & Ballot Systems Website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content may not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively identifying and addressing accessibility issues as a part of an ongoing improvement process.

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also implemented an accessibility plug-in tool (WP Accessibility by Joe Dolson) to further assist users in accessing our content. This plugin provides additional functionality to support users with disabilities and complements our ongoing efforts and does not serve as a substitute for ensuring that the Website’s code conforms to accessibility standards.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Survey & Ballot Systems Website. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers on the Survey & Ballot Systems Website:

Technical specifications

Accessibility of Survey & Ballot Systems’ Website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Limitations and alternatives

We put forth our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the Survey & Ballot Systems Website, but there may be some limitations. Many of the issues described below are scheduled to be addressed during an upcoming Website redesign. While a launch date has not yet been scheduled, we have attempted to describe alternatives to help users access Website content in the meantime. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Survey & Ballot Systems Website:

    1. Anchor Text: The text describing some links on our Website may be unfavorably ambiguous. We are actively reviewing the Website and making updates to improve this descriptive text to support link clarity. If you identify links that are unclear, please contact us with the URL to the page where you encountered the ambiguous link and we will assist you.
    2. Skip Links: Our Website employs skip links, which are invisible links that allow users to skip directly to main content. Some pages on our Website currently have skip links that may not function as intended, which may affect keyboard or screen reader navigation. Addressing this issue is a priority and we expect it to resolve by third quarter of 2025. In the meantime, please use your browser’s built-in navigation tools or contact us if you need further assistance.
    3. Navigation Menu Functionality: Some buttons in our Website’s navigation may not function as expected due to limitations associated with third-party plugins used in our Website’s current framework. We are unable to fix code in third-party plugins, so we plan to address this issue when we redesign the Website. In the meantime, please use our sitemap as an alternative way to navigate the Website or contact us for assistance finding specific content.
    4. Color Contrast and Text Visibility: Some text on our Website may not meet recommended contrast ratios, which can make text difficult to read for users with visual impairment. We plan to address this issue when we redesign the Website. In the meantime, we recommend using the Accessibility tool bar to adjust contrast and size of text, or adjust contrast, color, or size of text in your computer’s operating system or web browser’s built-in settings.
    5. Page Organization and Headings: Some pages in our Website may have headings that deviate from a logical nesting order, which can affect how assistive technologies interpret page structure. We are continually reviewing and correcting issues with heading levels across the Website and invite you to contact us with the URL to any page where you identify this as an issue. If you need additional assistance, please contact us and we are happy to help.
    6. Empty Links: Some pages in our Website may contain links without meaningful text, commonly referred to as “empty links.” This issue stems from old legacy code and will be addressed during our planned Website redesign. In the meantime, we recommend using the section headings to navigate to content on pages with empty links, such as our Webinar Center, Recent News, and Management Team pages.
    7. Links opening in a new Window or Tab: There are many instances across our site of a link that will open in a new window or tab without warning. A programmatic solution to this issue is scheduled for mid-2026. Meanwhile, please be aware that many links on this site will open in a new window or tab.
    8. Empty Buttons: Some of the buttons on our site may appear as empty buttons to some screen readers. We are actively working on this issue and hope to have it resolved in early 2026. Meanwhile, if you are encountering difficulties with empty buttons, please contact us for assistance.
    9. Empty Paragraph Tags: There may be some instances of empty paragraph tags throughout our site. This seems to be a function of our existing theme, and we are actively working on remediating this issue. Meanwhile, please ignore empty paragraph tags if you encounter them.
    10. Alternative Text: We have recently undertook a focused initiative to address instances of missing alternative text on images; however, a small number of additional instances may still exist. We are continuing to make updates to address this potential issue on a rolling basis. If you come across an image without appropriate alternative text, please notify us.
    11. Pricing Table Header: The pricing table on the pricing page of our Website may have accessibility issues. We plan to address this issue by third quarter of 2025 as a part of our ongoing accessibility improvements. In the meantime, please contact us if you need assistance accessing the pricing information.
    12. Video Transcripts: The videos on our site are hosted on either YouTube or Vimeo. All YouTube videos have captions and transcripts that can be found on YouTube itself. We are working on creating transcripts for our Vimeo-hosted videos. In the meantime, please contact us if you need assistance with any video transcript.
    13. Social icons in our footer sitewide: these lack ARIA labels. These are on every page of our site, and do not impact a user’s ability to understand the primary content on any page of our site. If this impacts your ability to access our social media profiles, use these links instead: LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, X.
    14. iFrames missing titles: There are approximately 48 instances of iFrames on our site that are missing titles. We are proactively working to remedy this issue and expect to have it addressed in the spring of 2026. Meanwhile, if you are encountering issues with consuming content presented in iFrames, please reach out to us directly for clarity.

Assessment approach

Survey & Ballot Systems, Inc. assesses the accessibility of Survey & Ballot Systems Website by the following approaches:

  • These scans generate reports of issues which are queued for resolution based on the severity and frequency of the issues.
  • An up-to-date list of all outstanding issues is available upon request.

Enabling the Accessibility Tool

The Survey & Ballot Systems Website’s accessibility tool can be enabled either by hitting the tab key when the page first loads (hit tab three times and then “enter” to adjust page contrast, or four times and then “enter” to enable larger text) or by clicking the two accessibility tool icons that appears on the right side of the page. After triggering the accessibility tool, please wait a moment for the accessibility tool to load in its entirety.
