Audit Trail
Last Updated on February 18, 2026 by Hannah Seeley
An audit trail provides a traceable log of all activities throughout the election process. In membership organizations, audit trails ensure election integrity and, in many cases, keep the organization compliant. The auditing process monitors ballot creation, final tabulation, certification, and everything in between. For online voting systems, audit trails may include IP logs, login timestamps, device types, and confirmation receipts.
