Unexercised Vote

Last Updated on February 18, 2026 by Hannah Seeley

An unexercised vote happens when an eligible member has the opportunity to cast a vote in an office, but doesn’t. In this scenario, a member receives a ballot, whether in print or digitally, but chooses not to cast a vote in a specific office. Tracking unexercised votes is crucial for measuring voter engagement and identifying areas where the organization may need to improve outreach efforts.
