Vacancy

You have a vacancy if an important position, like a board or officer role, is unfilled. Vacancies happen for many reasons, including resignations and removals. Regardless of the reason, organizations need policies in place for filling vacancies, such as board appointments or special elections. When important roles go unfilled, members’ trust in your organization can decrease, and it requires more work from your existing leadership team.
