The Challenge

SCRS, per its bylaws, has always held important organizational elections in person at its annual meetings. However, due to the restrictions on in-person meetings forced by the COVID-19 pandemic, SCRS held its 2020 annual meeting virtually via Zoom – and needed a voting solution that also could work in a virtual format to administer its elections. The solution also needed to be easy to use, in order to accommodate the wide variety of technological knowledge and ability that SCRS’ members have.

The Solution

After a search, SCRS chose DirectVoteLive: a software-as-a-service platform that enables voting groups to securely conduct their business regardless of whether people are connecting in person, virtually or in a hybrid meeting. The organization was very pleased with the functionality and ease of use it delivered, and its meeting and elections went off without a hitch. In addition, it found the DirectVoteLive team to be very helpful in the set-up process and preparing for possible election events and scenarios. SCRS has since referred affiliates and other organizations to DirectVoteLive.

“The team working behind the scenes for us at Survey & Ballot Systems was great. You don’t always get that level of support from companies like them, but they really delivered for us.” Aaron Schulenburg, Executive Director of SCRS
