Removal Without Cause
Last Updated on June 16, 2026 by Hannah Seeley
Removal without cause happens when you remove a leader without evidence of wrongdoing. That might mean removing a leader with personality conflicts or removing a leader when there’s minimal evidence of wrongdoing but enough of a trust gap with members to take action. Removal without cause is less common than removal with cause, but it gives organizations flexibility to make leadership changes as needed. However, not all bylaws permit it.
