Voice Vote

Last Updated on July 8, 2026 by Hannah Seeley

With a voice vote, members simply say “yes” or “no” out loud, which counts as their vote. They don’t submit a formal paper ballot. Because voice votes are hard to track (especially in crowded meeting rooms), they’re usually reserved for non-controversial matters. They can work for very minor decisions, but your organization will still need ballot-based voting to ensure auditability during formal elections.
